Introducing Palliative Care is the manual for several foundation courses run in Oxford, India and
elsewhere. I hope that others will find it of value and use it in a similar way. In this fourth edition,
the focus of Introducing Palliative Care is still on the care of patients with advanced cancer.
However, the general principles and most of the details are equally applicable to patients dying
from other progressive disorders.
