Level 3 of Piano Safari for the Older Student includes this book (Sight Reading & Theory Book 3) and  Older Student Repertoire & Technique Book 3. The books are meant to be used together. In this book,  students gain practice at tapping rhythms and reading music. They also gain knowledge about basics of music theory.
Level 3 builds on the concepts learned in Piano Safari for the Older Student Levels 1 and 2. Sight Reading & Theory Book 3 builds on the foundation established in the second level. Students continue to increase their musicianship skills through the study of theory and sight reading. This book pairs with Repertoire and Technique Book 3, Sight Reading & Theory Book 3 corresponds with Repertoire and Technique Book 3 but may also stand alone as a sight reading supplement. Theory concepts in each unit are followed by melodies and rhythms that provide substantial practice with reading notation. Analysis suggestions are provided for each example to aid students in the development of analytical skills.
