'Heaven's Hell' is fun. But dark fun. The women are gorgeous, the characters are larger than life and the dialogue is crisp and genuinely witty. Gray has a good ear for a sharp one-liner and there's no shortage of humour. But Gray's Heavens are a long way from the Elysian Fields. It's more like a chaotic office environment where everyone is overworked, stressed out and undervalued. The deities here succumb to the same temptations as the rest of humanity and are portrayed as having as little control over their existence as the rest of us.
